Croeso/Welcome to CathSoc Aberystwyth!

We strive to act primarily as a home away from home for all Catholic students who come to study in the university. It provides an opportunity for Catholic students to socialise, grow in faith and become involved in the parish. We equally welcome those who are not Catholic, but are interested in strengthening their relationship with God.

Mae CathSoc yn gartref cartref i bob myfyriwr Catholig sy’n astudio yn Aberystwyth. Rydym yn gymuned lle gall pawb gymdeithasu a thyfu mewn ffydd. Yn ogystal, croesawn hefyd nad yw’n Gatholig, ond mae gennym gwestiynau am Gatholiaeth; Y rhai sydd ddim ond eisiau cryfhau eu perthynas â Duw.

Joining The Society

There is no membership cost to join the society, however to be seen as an official member under the rules of the Student Union you have to sign up via the Students Union website to have Tim Aber Insurance.  Full details can be found on the society’s page of Aber SU.

Attending events

All students are encouraged to attend events and do not have to be signed up to do so. We do encourage students to sign up as official members, however, as otherwise they are not properly covered by our insurance.

Staff at the university are also welcome to join and come to our campus Masses.

Previous CathSoc Members (Alumni) are also very welcome to drop in and visit us.

Though we would encourage them to contact us first so that we can be expecting them.

Associated Organisations

CathSoc is a society for students at Aberystwyth University and we are affiliated with (but independent from) Aberystwyth University, the Aberystwyth Students’ Union, and the Catholic Parish of Aberystwyth and Aberaeron.
